The Saxon Fairy Swallow pigeon is a breed of domestic fancy pigeon from Germany. It is actually from Saxony and surrounding territory, and was developed over many years of selective breeding.

This breed along with other breeds of domesticated pigeon, all are descendants from the rock pigeon.

Saxon Fairy Swallow Pigeon Appearance

Saxon Fairy Swallow pigeon is a small to medium sized breed of domestic pigeon. It is a little shorter and broader than the Nuremberg Swallow.

It has various markings and patterns including spot marking, cap marking etc. But the breed is well known for the odd feathered feet.

The Saxon Fairy Swallow pigeon is spread in black, blue, red, yellow and silver, and also white barred and laced.

All plumage of it’s body is white with colored cap and wings. The lower beak is light and upper beak is dark.

The breed is shell-crested, and are muffed. The muffs are heavier than those of the Nuremberg Swallow, but not so large as those of the Fairy.
