The Beulah Speckled Face sheep is a breed of domestic sheep from United Kingdom. It is a meat sheep breed which have been bred in the uplands of Wales for more than a hundred years.
It is common mostly in Abergwesyn, Eppynt, Llanwrtyd Wells and Llanafan Fawr. And the breed is little known outside Wales. It was named for it’s distinctly patterned black and white face, which is generally free of wool.
Exact origins of the Beulah Speckled Face sheep breed are unclear. The breed may be a truly native breed that has been selected to suit the local environment for centuries.

The Beulah Speckled Face sheep are medium-sized animals. But they are pretty large in size compared to some other hill sheep breeds.
They have distinctly patterned black and white face, and their face is free from wool. Both rams and ewes are generally polled.
They have a black muzzle, and have black around the eyes and around the ears. Their legs are also black and white.

The Beulah Speckled Face sheep are hardy animals. They are well adapted to their native climates for centuries.
Today the breed is raised mainly for meat production, but also pretty good for producing wool. Their fleece production is around 1.4 to 3.5 kg per year.
The fleece is white in color with no dark fibers, and the wool has little crimp and dyes easily.
The wool is used for hand spinning, weaving and knitting for making garments and fabrics.
The Beulah Speckled Face ewes are often crossed with lowland rams such as the Texel, Bluefaced Leicester and Suffolk to bred mules, and also to produce market lambs for meat production.
The lambs do not meet today’s export demand for lean, fast-growing sheep when they are bred pure. The ewes are excellent mothers and they produce enough milk for their lambs.
