The Bruno Jura Hound is a medium sized hound which closely resembles the larger St. Hubert Jura Hound (although, it has less pendulous dewlaps). The breed is usually black and tan or two-tone brown in color with no white.

The coat of the Bruno Jura Hounds is thick, dense and is short in length and easy to maintain. Their eyes are typically dark in color, and the nose are black and glossy.
